Solid Format

Available now

Analytical software for investment managers.

Solid Format is built to help investment managers turn strategy data from existing systems into consistent, traceable comparisons with custom reports.

About

A controlled layer between your systems and your comparisons

Investment firms often hold strategy information and performance histories across systems that were never designed to produce one consistent client comparison. Solid Format is a controlled layer between those systems and the comparison experience: import agreed data, surface quality issues, publish a traceable dataset and use it to compare strategies consistently.

Solid Format is built for boutique and mid-sized investment managers whose strategy and performance data is spread across spreadsheets, portfolio systems and administrator extracts.

It is designed to improve the workflow of preparing consistent strategy comparisons for clients, consultants and distribution teams—work that is often manual and repeated.

Solid Format is analytical software. It is not investment advice, and it does not make investment decisions on a firm's behalf.

Product

Solid Format Compare: from fragmented data to trusted comparisons

Solid Format Compare is the first release, built to solve the operational problem beneath inconsistent strategy comparisons.

Why strategy comparisons break down

Disconnected sources

Strategy and performance data lives across spreadsheets, portfolio systems and administrator extracts that were never designed to talk to each other.

Manual reconciliation

Operations and reporting teams repeatedly reconcile the same histories by hand before a comparison can be produced.

Inconsistent calculations

Different teams and spreadsheets apply subtly different methodologies, producing numbers that do not agree with each other.

Weak provenance

It is difficult to trace a published number back to the source data, date and methodology that produced it.

Solid Format Compare

Strategy and benchmark selection

Choose the strategies and benchmark family you want compared, from a bounded, agreed set.

Cumulative return, annualised metrics and drawdowns

The core comparison views a client-reporting or product team needs, calculated one way, every time.

Dataset and methodology provenance

Every comparison traces back to a specific dataset version, source date and calculation methodology.

White-label configuration

The same underlying product can be presented under a firm’s own branding and terminology.

How it works

A four-step workflow

1

Connect and import

Agree an authorised read-only connection or controlled extract, then import the agreed strategy and performance data.

2

Validate and publish

Data quality issues are surfaced for review, then approved data is published as a versioned, independent dataset.

3

Compare and explain

Use the published dataset to produce consistent, traceable comparisons across strategies and benchmarks.

4

Generate reports

Create branded, traceable reports from the published Solid Format dataset so client-facing outputs use the same approved figures, methodology and snapshot as the comparison view.

A read-only path from source to comparison

Comparison requests are served from a published Solid Format dataset. Requests never query the customer's source system directly.

Deterministic comparison

Branded interface and reports

Publishing a versioned dataset means a comparison always points to a specific, dated snapshot rather than a moving target. It also means Solid Format can keep functioning — and published comparisons keep working — if source access is paused or withdrawn, because nothing downstream of publication depends on a live connection back to your systems.
